Shuttle Bracket

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 May 2025

Shuttle Bracket ("we", "us", or "our") operates shuttlebracket.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register as a tournament organiser or player we collect your name and email address. Organisers may also provide a club or organisation name.

Tournament and match data. We store tournament structures, pool draws, match schedules, scores, and player rankings that you or your tournament organisers enter into the Service.

Usage data. We automatically collect standard server log information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data helps us maintain reliability and improve the Service.

Cookies and local storage. We use session cookies to keep you signed in and small local-storage items to remember UI preferences (e.g. selected discipline view). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate users and protect account security.
  • Generate and display tournament draws, schedules, standings, and rankings.
  • Send transactional emails such as password-reset links (no marketing email without consent).
  • Diagnose technical problems and monitor service health.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes.

Public tournament data. Tournament draws, schedules, match results, and standings are publicly visible so that players and spectators can follow events. Player display names and rankings appear on public pages.

Service providers. We may share data with trusted vendors (e.g. hosting infrastructure, email delivery) who process it solely on our behalf and are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Shuttle Bracket, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Tournament data (draws, results, rankings) is retained indefinitely to preserve historical records.

You may request deletion of your personal account data by contacting us (see Section 8). Note that anonymised tournament results may be retained even after account deletion.

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights please contact us using the details in Section 8.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access-controlled infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to protect your data to a reasonable standard.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.
